Business survival in the 21st Century
The motivations to start your own a business are many. Lots of business operators are very good at making something or selling something and build their business around that skill. They are hard workers and have huge drive and energy to make it happen. Unfortunately history shows that the technical and selling skills that led them to opening a business are not enough to run a successful enterprise. Whilst all small businesses are started with enthusiasm and strong commitment, the sad truth is that 60% of businesses fail within the first three years of set up and 90% of those that survive disappear within 10 years.
